ELIGIBILITY

  • Open to all participants with a valid Texas fishing license

  • All TPWD regulations must be followed

  • Any undersized or oversized fish brought to weigh-in will result in disqualification

REGISTRATION

  • Entry fees must be paid in full before the tournament begins

  • Each team registration includes 4 lunch tickets for Saturday

ENTRY FEES

  • Flounder Division: $375 per team (4 people max)

  • Sheepshead Sidepot: $50 per entry — 100% payout

  • Black Drum Sidepot: $50 per entry — 100% payout

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

  • If more than 20 entries are received, a Calcutta may be added

  • Participants who register by March 9th receive a
    POC Flounder Smackdown tumbler & koozie

🗓 TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE

May 29

  • Mandatory Captains Meeting

    • Location: Josie’s Cantina

    • Time: 5:30 PM

  • Official tournament start time will be announced at the meeting

May 30

  • Fish Weigh-In:

    • 12:00 AM – 3:00 AM

    • Location: Port O’Connor Fishing Center

  • Lunch, Awards, Cornhole Tournament, Silent Auction & Door Prizes

    • 11:30 AM

📍 FISHING BOUNDARIES

  • Waters from West Matagorda Bay at the Colorado River to Ayres Bay only

  • Participants seen outside boundaries will be disqualified

  • Photos of boundary violations must be provided as evidence

🚤 METHOD OF FISHING

  • GIGGING ONLY tournament

  • No rod & reel fishing

  • No bowfishing

  • One boat per team — teams may not split boats

  • All persons in boat must be registered (4 max per boat)

  • No sharing, swapping, or pooling fish with other teams

  • No swapping fish once a team member enters weigh-in line

  • Only one team member allowed at weigh-in

  • Eligible species: Flounder, Sheepshead, Black Drum

  • Winners subject to polygraph testing

🐟 FISH CONDITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Fish must be fresh, whole, not frozen or thawed

  • Must be caught during tournament hours

  • Any tampering (cut tails, weights, etc.) results in disqualification

  • All final decisions made by the Weigh Master

💰 PAYOUT CATEGORIES

Flounder Division

  • Fish used for stringer cannot be used in other categories

  • Heaviest Stringer (1st–3rd place)

    • Max 5 flounder

    • Tie breaker: earliest weigh-in time

  • Longest Flounder (not from stringer)

  • Heaviest Flounder (not from stringer)

Sheepshead Sidepot — 100% Payout

  • Longest Sheepshead (overall)

  • Tie breaker: weight prevails

  • TPWD minimum length: 15”

Black Drum Sidepot — 100% Payout

  • Longest Black Drum (overall)

  • Tie breaker: weight prevails

  • TPWD maximum slot: 30”

⚠️ DISPUTES & DISCLAIMERS

  • All disputes must be addressed to the Weigh Master immediately

  • Tournament officials’ decisions are final

  • By registering, participants release organizers, sponsors, and affiliates from liability for:

    • Injuries

    • Property damage

    • Any loss during the event

  • In case of bad weather, tournament will be rescheduled

    • New date will be announced via email & social media

  • No refunds for team cancellations
